Who we are: Arden Corter

Atlantis Healthcare Group – Health Psychologist Special Projects

Arden has completed her MSc in Psychological Medicine at the University of Auckland and has spent the last four years researching government health and social programs. In this role, Arden has had the opportunity to evaluate programs designed to help patients with chronic health problems (eg, depression, cancer, etc), as well as to research and guide policy for further developments in this area of health management.

The Atlantis Healthcare Oncology AIM project, which forms the basis of Arden’s PhD research, will focus specifically on providing patient support to women with breast cancer. However, it is hoped that the intervention will have a broader application than this one patient population. Over the long term, and following completion of the PhD, Arden anticipates applying her research findings to further studies examining support programs for other chronic populations (eg, depression, diabetes) to test the portability of the intervention.
